James Bleifus holds a Master’s degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing and literary theory.  His writing has been published in ZYZZYVA and B&W Photography, while his photographs have been published in Photographer’s ForumThe Best of Photography Annual 2000The Best of Photography Annual 2002Popular Photography, and other journals.

James is currently documenting the nearly 100 Vietnam War Memorials scattered throughout California. A veteran of Operation Desert Storm and the Rodney King Riots, James organized the 30th anniversary celebration of the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Grove at Sonoma State University.
